Website statement<\/p>\n

This website aims to reflect my ongoing practice and is frequently updated. It represents a selection of work arranged under two categories, Images and Paratext.<\/p>\n

'Images' include standalone drawings, paintings, sketchbook images, drypoint prints and photographic works.<\/p>\n

Please click on each image to expand it, and for more information.<\/p>\n

'Paratext' is my own term for a single work comprising a cluster of pieces. A paratext cluster might be formalised, for example, in terms of publication, exhibited installation, performed artwork etc. Claire Bishop refers to such works comprising \u2018multiple ontologies\u2019 as \u2018works that persist in different forms after the event\u2019 (Bishop, 2012, Artificial Hells, Participatory Art and the Politics of Spectatorship). So, a paratext piece might continue to evolve. For example, 'Drawing the Borderline' begins with a line drawn around a high security prison, and continues its life through photographs, sketchbooks, recordings (audio\/avi), published artist pages and a cardboard box of paper till rolls inscribed with \u2018remembered fragments of conversation and surface rubbings of the prison\u2019s perimeter\u2019.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>
